Perturbateurs endocriniens : place dans la prévention réalisée par les sages-femmes : enquête auprès des sages-femmes du Puy-de-Dôme

Abstract : Aims: Our study aimed at assessing what place endocrine disruptors (EDs) hold in the preventive actions led by midwives (MW), their perception of their role in this field and their training needs. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among MW working in Puy-de-Dôme. Data were collected with an on-line standardized questionnaire. Questionnaire analysis and statistical analysis were performed with Modalisa V8.0 software (Kynos, Paris). Results: Among the 61 MW included, 39% deliver messages regarding EDs in part of their activities, which are mainly related to food or infant’s care. Moreover 66% of them think they do not have enough skills regarding EDs and 93% ask for training and feel they have a role to play as MW. Conclusion: The national EDs’ strategy should involve MW as actors on the ground, by setting up initial and secondary training programs on this topic and by advocating for publication of official recommendations regarding clinical practice and prevention.
