Étude qualitative sur l’implémentation du télésoin en France

Abstract : Introduction: in France, there is a significant heterogeneity of access to physiotherapy care. To overcome these inequalities, several countries have been using telerehabilitation for years. Since the state of emergency in the face of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health has authorized telecare for physiotherapists (PT). The objective of this qualitative study is to understand the vision of the PT of the implementation of telecare in their professional practice. Method: three semi-directive interviews were conducted, transcribed, coded and analyzed. Results: the main obstacles raised by the PT were the lack of personal resources, beliefs in their abilities and difficulties in assessing the patient at a distance. The absence of touch seemed to be a major obstacle. All the PT interviewed had performed telecare outside the regulatory framework, at least initially. Discussion: the PT mentioned that telecare was inferior to face-to-face care, but they remained optimistic and expressed a desire to continue this practice, in an advisory role or alternating with face-to-face sessions. Conclusion: telecare is part of the PT’s mission and represents an additional asset for the patient. Specific training could help professionals to adapt their practice to this new modality.
