Sensibilisation et pré-dépistage précoce de la BPCO par le masseur kinésithérapeute libéral

Abstract : The purpose of this work is to understand the place that the liberal physiotherapist holds today in the pre-screening of the pathology, as well as the obstacles he encounters in its implementation. The distribution of the HAS COPD screening self-questionnaire to patients has led to a pre-detection rate: 33% of the patient of a general physiotherapist is at risk of developing the disease. Secondly, semi-open interviews with four physiotherapists enabled us to complete the categorical framework found in the literature of general practitioners. The main factors limiting the implementation of such preventive acts are: the lack of knowledge and skills on the subject, the lack of time as a liberal health professional, the representation that the practitioner has of a COPD patient as well as the representation that he has of the screening of the disease, the doctor/physiotherapist relationship and finally the problem of the non-specificity of COPD symptoms. Both initial and continuing training on the different ways of assisting in COPD screening and on how to approach the patient on this subject could be of real interest.
