Abstract : Breast cancer is a major public health problem. Physical activity (PA) is a way to fight against the undesirable effects of the disease and treatments. However, patients perceive several obstacles and barriers to PA. This explains why the amount of PA of women with breast cancer decreases drastically after the announcement. The concept of self-efficacy helps to explain the commitment or not to the practice of PA. Self-efficacy is a major psychosocial determinant of PA engagement and is included in the transtheoretical model of change. The main objective of this dissertation is to show the impact of an adapted physical activity program (APAs) on the commitment to PA practice in women with breast cancer. A research protocol was set up in which eight women with breast cancer completed a questionnaire to assess perceived self-efficacy, a questionnaire to assess PA levels, and a scale to assess stages of change. The results show that an APA program improves commitment to physical activity in women with breast cancer. This commitment has an impact on patients' PA levels outside the facility. Then, PA practice and the number of program sessions induce stage changes for women with breast cancer.
