Évaluation de la nouvelle « hotline gériatrique » du CHU de Grenoble auprès des médecins généralistes et médecins coordinateurs en EHPAD : connaissance, utilisation, satisfaction perçue

Abstract : Context: During the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the geriatric advice line at Grenoble University Hospital has been modified, becoming a telephone line with direct access to specialists. Objectives: To assess knowledge of the new “hotline” of Grenoble University Hospital, its use, physician satisfaction and expectations. Method: Quantitative, descriptive study, by online questionnaire, distributed from May to June 2021 to general practitioners and coordinating doctors in nursing home for aged in the Grenoblois basin. Results: The participation rate was 36%. The hotline was known by 69% of participants, and 81% of them used it. The practice as a coordinating doctor, in a nursing home, and obtaining a university degree in the field of geriatrics were the criteria associated with greater knowledge and use. 65% of practitioners sometimes felt difficulties in taking charge of their elderly pantient. But there was no link between the frequency of the difficulties experienced and the use of the hotline. The most frequently cited call frequency was once every 3 months (61%). In the context of the health crisis, the majority of calls declared concerned help with the management of Covid-19 cases (85%). The answers provided by the geriatrician were perceived as relevant (4.36 / 5, ± 0.71), in an appropriate time (4.12 / 5, ± 0.83), with a high satisfaction rate (4.45 / 5, ± 0.66). Maintaining this geriatric advice line beyond the health crisis is desired by 96% of users. Conclusion: One year after its creation, the new Grenoble University Hospital hotline is widely known and appreciated. The health context has greatly influenced its use, but faced with the difficulties experienced in the field, its maintenance beyond the health crisis is widely desired.
