QWIN : système automatisé de prédiction, trading et placement de paris sportifs

Abstract : Far from being a game, betting exchange world is a real business where there is no place for something else than technical capabilities to learn and forecast. After some successful experiments, a study and research phase has been started in order to discover betting exchange mechanisms. The most important requirement was to build Qwin as a fully automated system, with no human interaction. Goal was simply to conceive a forecast and trading system based on player performance and real-time financial analysis. During 2 years, research, analyse, conception and development activities allowed to master how betting exchange works, using the Betfair API. To get the best possible predictions, a long time is needed in collecting data. Time ran out, and the system had to be stopped by lack of consistent data of financial resources. Initial set of information was enough to start projet but not to be confident in production despite encouraging results. 2 years collecting data was expected, and only 10 months were available. But no doubt the system will restart because it’s fully operational and it has proved it provides high performance forecasts. The thesis is describing in depth all the project phases, how betting exchange works, how the conception and development has been realised, based on today computing technologies. It provides a detailed appreciation on what it’s important to remember regarding methods for predicting : what, how and when.
