Efficacité des méthodes de tonification du caisson abdominal chez l’adulte pour traiter des lombalgies chroniques communes

Abstract : Introduction: The management of low back pain is considered to be a major public health issue. It entails significant costs (care, work stoppages,etc.). Pain is the first symptom to appear and impact the psychological health of patients. The High Autority for Health insists on preventing the vicious circle of chronicity which would lead to a decrease in functional capabilities. If previously, the approach of physiotherapy was to focus on strengthening the abdominals, today we seek a balance by toning the postural muscles. Purpose: Show the efficiency of abdominal box toning methods, Pilates and Core-Stability, on pain (primary endpoint) and on disability functional (secondary endpoint) of patient with common chronic low back pain. Tools and methods: The studies were selected through different databases (Pubmed, etc.). Six randomized clinical trials (RCTs) including a pilot study were selected, three on pilates, and three on Core-Stability. They were evaluated according to the PEDro evaluation grid. Data and results were presented in tabular form and then analyzed. Results: Significant results concerning the two judgment criteria were highlighted. Both methods provide effective short and long term improvements. However, in the medium term (6 months), the practice of Pilates can lead to an increase in pain and a decrease in functional capabilities. Conclusion: In this review of literature, we find that Pilates and Core-Stability have a positive impact on pain and on the improvement of functional capabilities.
