Abstract : In France, non-medicinal care practices lack recognition. This is the case for horticultural therapy and the use of gardens for therapeutic purposes, despite studies demonstrating the benefits of the link between humans, whether healthy or not, and plants. Compared to the American model and its well-established practices of horticultural therapy, it appears that this low recognition can be explained by the lack of clarity of French practices carried out by health and/or plant professionals, and due to the absence of recognition of a professional title and validated training. A review of other non-medicinal mediation interventions in France, such as art therapy, music therapy or Animal Assisted Interventions, allows us to draw a parallel between their recognition and that of horticultural therapy. Convinced of the benefits that contact with plants can have, particularly with cancer patients, the Clinique de l'Anjou in Angers (49) decided to create a therapeutic garden for group activities. The objective of this work was, in parallel with the design and construction of the Jardin de l’Anjou, to implement an experimental programme of plant mediation sessions with a group of 6 breast cancer patients. This document presents the method used to create the garden and the sessions as well as the results of the evaluation of the experimental programme.
