Les facteurs de la pubalgie chez le footballeur

Abstract : Context: Pubalgia, literally "pubic pain" is a complex pathology of the inguino-pelvic junction. It’s a recurrent pathology of the sportsman. The most affected sport is soccer. The pathophysiology of pubalgia is not well known. There is a real lack of consensus at the international level for this condition which is very present in the world of sports. This is why Brunet in 1983 called it a "catch-all syndrome". A good knowledge of pubalgia is essential for its management. Objective: To identify intrinsic risk factors for pubalgia in soccer players. Participants: Men's amateur or professional soccer players. Methods: Various databases (PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane Library, KinéDoc) were used to select eligible articles for this review. Specific inclusion and exclusion criteria were defined beforehand. The objective of the studies must be to identify one or more risk factors for pubalgia syndrome in footballers. Results: Of all the studies, 6 prospective cohort studies were selected for the synthesis of this review. Different risk factors were assessed by various measures. Thus, potential risk factors such as decreased adductor muscle strength, a history of pubalgia or anthropological data (age, weight, height) were identified by the authors. However, the heterogeneities between the different included studies as well as the limitations don’t allow to extrapolate these results to our entire population. Discussion: Although a decrease in muscle strength, a history of injury, advanced age, or weight gain are often cited as risk factors for pathology in athletes, the evidence provided by this review does not allow us to conclude on their impact in the context of pathology in the soccer player. Studies are still largely necessary to answer the questions posed.
