Efficacité de la méthode Schroth dans la prise en charge de scoliose de type idiopathique chez les adolescents

Abstract : Background: The rehabilitation of adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis is complex. The discovery of specific exercises of the pathology is interesting with a view to physiotherapy management with the aim of avoiding surgery. Objective: This review discusses the Schroth method effectiveness in order to determine whether it may be a suitable technique in the treatment of idiopathic scoliosis in adolescents. Method: Electronic databases such as Pubmed, Pedro and Google Scholar allowed the selection of 4 articles for randomized clinical trials and case series. Results: The included studies failed to show significant differences overall due to a lack of comparable evidence. Some articles presented encouraging results in favor of the Schroth method. Conclusion: The efficacy of the Schroth method couldn’t be demonstrated in this literature review. Further research into the Schroth method would be of interest to improve patient care.
