Ressenti des patients sur la téléconsultation : étude qualitative réalisée dans le Bergeracois

Abstract : Introduction: teleconsultation is a device allowing the patient to remotely obtain a consultation with a medical professional. Teleconsultation seems to be an interesting way to facilitate access to care, especially in the context of medical desertification in certain regions, or in the current epidemic context of Covid-19. Aims: explore the feelings of patients on teleconsultation in the Bergerac region. Methods: a qualitative study with a thematic analysis by semi-structured individual interviews was carried out. Reasoned recruitment, in maximum variation, of 15 patients who have already carried out one or more teleconsultations in the Bergerac region. Patients were recruited from June 2020 to Jan- uary 2021. Data collection was carried out until sufficient data was obtained. Interviews were transcribed, double coded, and triangulated data with analysis using NVivo software. Results: patients have expressed satisfaction with the teleconsultation, which they see as an easy way to access care. The lack of clinical examination, and the need to master new technologies, however, represent the limits of this medical practice. Conclusion: the patients seemed in favor of teleconsultation, which represents a good way to continue the continuity of care. Without replacing it, teleconsultation is a good alternative to traditional consultation. Carrying out a teleconsultation assisted by a nurse would allow a basic clinical examination to be carried out, as well as support for dependent people.
