Effet d’un suivi en hypnose éricksonienne en supplément d’une prise en charge en activité physique adaptée sur l’évolution de l’estime de soi physique de patients en situation d’obésité

Abstract : Background. Obesity is now a public health problem that must be addressed in its entirety as the consequences are significant. Many sport and health structures can only offer APA to their public. The contribution of a complementary therapy for the treatment of psychological consequences, including self-esteem, is interesting in this type of context. It is in this context that this thesis will focus on the effects of a complementarity between hypnosis and APA on the self-esteem of the obese patient. Objective. The aim of this study was to see the effects of a follow-up in ericksonian hypnosis in complement of the APA carried out within a physical and health activity structure on the evolution of the global self-esteem of adults in situation of obesity. Methods. Participants (=12) filled in the ISP-25 questionnaire at the beginning and end of the eight weeks program. Control group do APA without any modification. Experimental group do APA without any modification and four ericksonian hypnosis sessions. Results. Pre-experimental results showed no significant differences between the two groups on any of the parameters measured. Post-experimental results showed no evolution in the control group. A significant evolution of the subscales "strength" and "perceived physical value" and "global self-esteem" was measured for the hypnosis group. Significant differences appeared on the "perceived physical value" and "global self-esteem" scales and on the "perceived physical appearance" subscale between the two groups at the end of the program in favor of hypnosis. Conclusion. Hypnosis associated with APA in the management of the obese patient allows an improvement of the physical and global self-esteem whereas APA alone does not bring a significant improvement after eight weeks. Validation of the protocol in a larger population is necessary to validate complementarity.
