Moyens de recueil des menstruations : utilisation, connaissances et satisfaction des femmes

Abstract : Context: In France, 16 millions women are affected by menstruation every year. The collection of disposable menstruation is a source of problems, including health, economy and the environment. The reusable collecting tools for menstruation reduce the ecological and economic impacts. It remains to determine the consequences in terms of health risks. Objective: Identify the advantages and drawbacks of the new collection tools. Materials and methods: A descriptive study was conducted through the dissemination of an online survey. All women in the study were selected over the same period, between March and June, 2020. Results: The case study involved 552 women aged from 18 years old up to menopause. Among them, an average of 66.7% use disposable methods compared to 23% using reusable methods with a preferential use of menstrual cup. Comfort, health and ecology and practicality are the most announced reasons for the change of collection type by the sample. Reusable methods are mostly seen as benefits by the women surveyed (41.5%). Conclusion : The results show an advantage to the use of reusable collection tools if they are properly used, with less secondary effects;
