Description du parcours de soin des adolescents et jeunes adultes diagnostiqués d’une tumeur cérébrale primitive à Grenoble entre 2013 et 2019

Abstract : Introduction: Adolescents and young adults cancers (AYA) are rare. Regulatory developments aim to improve their management. Central system nervous tumors of AYAs appear in third place according to epidemiological studies. The purpose of this study is firstly to draw up an inventory of the AYA neuro-oncology care pathways at the Grenoble University Hospital (CHUGA) according to the recommendations of the Directorate General of Care Provision (DGOS) of 2016. In a second time, we analyze them in sub-groups according on the care services and within the AYA team, and then we evaluate the pre-therapeutic courses. Method: A retrospective monocentric observational study was conducted from January 2013 to 2019 at the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital, on patients aged 13 to 29 years, who were diagnosed with a primary brain tumor, excluding meningiomas, schwannomas and neurinomas. Results: 60 patients were included and their pathways were analyzed in the overall cohort and then divided into subgroups according to the types of care (adult department / pediatric oncology, included or not in the AYA team). Three of the 9 key stages of the care process were achieved regardless of the type of care (> 90%). Management in a pediatric oncology department or in an AYA team seems to perform on some criteria. Conclusion: The improvement of the key steps in accordance with the recommendations could allow the optimization of the management of this population. Interdisciplinary cooperation, especially between adult and pediatric services, is a major springboard in this process.
