La place de l'ART (Atraumatic restorative treatment) dans la prise en charge de la CPE (carie précoce de l'enfant) : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is a widespread childhood disease among the world's population of under 6 years old. With a complex and multifactorial etiology, treatment of ECC can sometimes be limited to conventional approaches. Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) is a promising method that is easy to implement, inexpensive, and of great public health interest. We differentiate conventional ART, silver fluoride diamine (SDF) and the Hall technique. We will see that it allows the treatment of dentine caries lesions on temporary teeth and offers a better quality of life to children and their families. In addition, it reduces treatment costs by limiting the need of general anesthesia and specific care whose waiting times are often long. Regarding this study, we will analyse the current data on ECC, then the principle of ART, and finally a systematic review of the literature evaluating the relevance of these treatments in the treatment of ECC.
