Interactions santé bucco-dentaire, santé générale chez le sujet âgé

Abstract : Oral health is not only an indicator of overall health but also an indicator of social integration. Poor oral health is linked to many systemic diseases and can potentiate them: Diabetes, Cardiovascular illnesses, Respiratory pathologies, Neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases, Covid-19 … In addition, it alters eating behavior, quality of live and therefore the relationship with others. No caregiver should no longer ignore that oral health is an absolute priority for aging well in health and dignity. Care of the elderly patient must be multidisciplinary and primarily include oral hygiene.
