Renforcement des soins de santé primaires au travers de l’approvisionnement pharmaceutique : l’exemple du Burkina Faso

Abstract : Since its inception in the mid-70’s, Primary Health Care has been depicted as the most efficient way to develop health systems towards achieving Universal Health Coverage. The strategic role of medicines and other health products in the PHC strategy is critical, both from a therapeutic and financial perspective. In order to develop PHC, local health authorities must put in place the necessary capacity-building mechanisms directed at the health workers in charge of stock management and medicine deliverance at the primary level. To be effective, these capacity-building processes must be well adapted to the local context and developed in a sustainable way aiming at continued improvement.
