Étude de la viabilité et de l’acceptabilité pour les patients d’un parcours coordonné ville-hôpital pour l’arrêt du tabac en Ex-Aquitaine

Abstract : Introduction: as part of the health campaign for smoking cessation, a coordinated 'city-hospital' pathway was created in 2017 at the ‘Hôpital Suburbain du Bouscat’, under the aegis of Dr. N. Lajzerowicz. In this program, patients, addictologist and general practicioners are involved with alternating appointments between practitioners. Based on the encouraging results of a monocentric study conducted in 2017 by PhD Student M. Fournols, the ‘PACT-Tabac’ program and its viability evaluation ('EVIAPACT') are part of a desire to disseminate the coordinated pathway on a larger scale. Objective: the aim of this study was to evaluate the viability and acceptability of this coordinated program for patients, using a self-survey. Methods: we conducted a cross-sectional study between March and June 2021, using individual questionnaires, mainly constructed in the form of a Likert scale. The study concerned patients having followed the program between spring 2020 and winter 2021 in one of the 10 selected addictology centers distributed in ex-Aquitaine. Results: a total of 9 patients meeting the inclusion criteria completed the questionnaire. Our patients’ characteristics were comparable to a profile of 'Heavy Chronic Smokers'. Patients agreed on the acceptability of the program, but the adhesion was not full, with a minority of complete programs (44.4%). The program seems to provide guarantees of viability. First, because it is economically affordable, but also because of its usefulness and its geographical and social accessibility. Conclusion : the results of this study are encouraging, despite a lack of strength due to a very limited number of participants. The coordinated pathway seems appropriate for persistent smokers with multiple quit attempts, and for 'precarious' smokers for whom the effectiveness appears satisfactory.
