Prise en charge de l’anxiété scolaire à l’officine : place de la phytothérapie, de l’aromathérapie et conseils associés

Abstract : Anxiety is a widespread problem in our society, and the scholar environment is affected as well. In recent decades, several drugs have been developed in order to overcome this problem. However, only few of them have full market approval for anxiety disorders among pediatric patients. The use of so-called alternative or complementary therapies such as herbal medicine or aromatherapy has an important place in the management and treatment of school-related anxiety in an OTC approach. After first defining the essential notions related to anxiety and then identifying the different causes of schoolrelated anxiety (achievements, novelty, peers’ pressure, social anxiety, etc.), we will review several indispensables plants and essential oils as part of a tailored and customized management of school-related anxiety for children from 6 to 18 years of age at the community pharmacy.
