Évaluation de l’impact d’un nouveau système automatisé sur la sécurisation et la productivité de délivrance globale des médicaments au CHU Grenoble-Alpes

Abstract : ln order to secure stages of the medication circuit, integration of automation into the medication management of the patient has made great progress recently. ln 2005, the Grenoble-Alpes University Hospital deployed a robot for the storage and global delivery of medicines. ln 2019, due to its obsolescence, it was equipped with a new robotization system. This one has five automated delivery and two loading modules. A "Stock Light©" module has been added for semi-automated management of drugs requiring unpacking for delivery. Our goal is to assess the impact of the new global delivery system on the security and productivity of the process. We conducted a prospective study evaluating the time spent by the various operators with the new installation, and a retrospective study for distribution errors. A gain in productivity has been demonstrated with an improvement in capacity of robot's storage, and in its performance, as well as the deployment of the unpacked management module. Regarding the security of the overall delivery, a stability of the overall error rate was shown, but a trend towards an improvement in the number of days without errors was observed (67% vs 56%). ln addition, this new system has enabled a reduction in qualitative errors, particularly on deconditioned. Automation of drug dispensing can allow for the reallocation of working time to other pharmaceutical tasks, including those performed in care units. Acquisition of automated and semi-automated solutions is an essential asset for securing tasks previously performed manually.
