Intérêt de l’utilisation de l’application Activ’dos pour des patients lombalgiques chroniques : protocole d’essai contrôlé randomisé

Abstract : Self rehabilitation programs are recommended for chronic low back pain treatment. There are few evidences on the usefulness of new technologies for the selfmanagement of low back pain. The aim of this study is to compare a group using Activ’dos app for his self-rehabilitation program versus a group using a standard sheet of paper. Method : Chronic low back pain patients will be randomized to an interventional group with Activ’dos app ; and a control group with a standard procedure using a sheet of paper. Both groups will have the same daily self-rehabilitation program and one physiotherapy session per week. Functional capacities, pain, satisfaction and patient compliance will be evaluated. Results : the number of subjects is determined to ensure 90% power in the implementation evidence of a difference of 4.9 points (minimum clinically important difference) at 6 weeks between groups. With these assumptions, a staff of 23 patients per group, or 46 in total, is required. Conclusion : self-rehabilitation programs are a good way to make patients move. This study will determine which support to choose to optimize these programs.
