Enquête sur la collaboration sages femmes / masseurs-kinésithérapeutes pour la prévention des troubles périnéaux chez la femme enceinte

Abstract : The impact of pelvic dysfunction on women's health is a public health priority since pregnancy and childbirth are proven risk factors and have an impact on quality of life. A preventive intervention strategy therefore seems necessary. Midwives and physiotherapists can play a role in this prevention. The objective of this study is to carry out an inventory of the elements influencing the implementation of a midwife/physiotherapist collaboration for the prevention of perineal disorders in pregnant women. Method : A questionnaire-based method was used with these two health professionals in France. The dissemination was done through social networks and professional organizations. Results : 123 physiotherapists and 292 midwives responded to this survey. 80.72% of them perform prevention in pregnant women, but 57.35% of them do not collaborate. However, 55.04% of the latter would like to do so. Discussion : In view of the analysis of the results, these professionals seem to be aware of the value of collaboration between them for the prevention of perineal disorders in pregnant women, but are still hesitant about how to proceed.
