Les enseignant(e)s sont-ils conscient(e)s de l’existence des stéréotypes de genre dans le contexte scolaire ?

Abstract : At a time when equality between women and men is a major national cause of President Emmanuel Macron's five-year term, we still find a persistence of gender stereotypes in the school context. However, the school, which prepares future citizens, has the duty to promote gender equality, to fight against discrimination and therefore against gender stereotypes. Teachers, as the main actors of the school, have a very important role to play in the construction of gender equality. Nevertheless, through various mechanisms, they participate in the transmission of gender stereotypes: through the transmission of stereotyped knowledge, through interactions with students that are unequal according to gender, through a difference in behavior towards girls and boys... In each of our attitudes, these stereotypes can spread, which we have integrated from a young age through the mechanisms of society. These attitudes are not conscious, but it is necessary that they are taken into account in order to inform and train the actors of the school.
