Parcours et attentes des patients inclus dans un programme de réadaptation pour lombalgies chroniques au sein de l’hôpital de Dinan

Abstract : Introduction : Low back pain is one of the first reason of seeking primary care and a cost for society. Recommendations were recently issued by HAS, highlighting the importance of early multidisciplinary care, a centred patient approach considering their risk factors and goals. Aim : Highlight patients journey and expectations when they are started a schedule in the school of the back in Dinan. Method : A qualitative investigation through the carrying out of semi-structured patient interviews. Results : General practitioners submit rarely patients in this school of the back. The care process is similar from patient to patient and doesn’t correspond to recommandations. Disease management is difficult, in its apprehension and intolerance. The psychological impact is at the forefront and results in functional limitations. The patient’s expectations are focus on resumption of physical activities, a better communication and abilities of self-care. Conclusion : The care process of patients doesn’t match recommandations associated with patient dissatisfaction. Fears, beliefs and psychological impact at the forefront in the pain chronicization and treatment failures are not well enough noticed. It seems necessary to replace the general practitioner at the core of those complex process of pain recovery, notably in his information and therapeutic educator role but also as care coordinator.
