Utilisation de la visioconférence en régulation médicale dans les CRRA (Centre de réception et de régulation des appels) en Basse-Normandie

Abstract : Introduction: telemedicine currently benefits and since the health situation related to COVID 19 from a certain evolution, this one being part of many practices of modern medicine including medical regulation, we are interested in its use in the SAMU regulation centers, in order to know if the regulation decision was modified by the use of remote regulation. Materials and methods: we conducted an epidemiological, cross-sectional and multicenter study, this study aimed at studying the use or not of remote regulation in given medical regulation situations, this study including 35 SAMU regulation doctors and 14 regulation doctors PDS on the hospitals of the CHU of Caen, the CH of St Lo and the CH of Alencon. Results: the use of remote regulation by regulatory physicians is found particularly in traumatology (60.4% of positive responses), in dermatology (84.7% of positive responses) and in the context of SSE (72.1% of positive responses) & a more controversial use in infectiology (51% positive responses) and ophthalmology (50.3% positive responses). Certain medical fields do not seem to find use for remote regulation in regulators, in particular in psychiatry (6% of positive responses), in ENT/CMF (15% of positive responses) and in gastroenterology (9.5%). Our secondary analyzes also found different approaches to remote regulation between PDS and SAMU regulation physicians with preferential use of remote regulation in traumatology (p<0.008), in ophthalmology (p<0.03) and in SSE (p<0.001) in SAMU regulators. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences in use have been shown according to age. Conclusion: the use of telemedicine is tending to expand into many medical specialties. Tele-regulation has been integrated into telemedicine since its inception, it must be extended to SAMU regulation centers. This study to identify situations and guidelines regarding its use.
