L’adaptation de fables en bande dessinée : un outil de développement des compétences littéraires au cycle 3

Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the teaching of comics in a fourth grade class, focusing on the adaptation of classic works. The study examines the challenges of adapting Jean de La Fontaine's fables into comic strips and focuses on the implementation of a teaching-learning sequence on the study of comic strip codes as well as the production of comic strips by the pupils. The results show the development of various skills in the students such as knowing the characteristics of the comic strip, understanding the coherence between the text and the image and mastering the discourses of the narrative. The limitations of this sequence emphasise the need for good time management and implement differentiation according to students' needs.
