Impact d’une campagne de promotion vaccinale antigrippale multimodale auprès des soignants des urgences du centre hospitalier de Périgueux

Abstract : Context: despite annual influenza vaccination campaign and a reliable vaccine, the influenza vaccination remains inadequate among healthcare workers. Materials and method: this study was quantitative, observational, monocentric, before and after interventions type, among Perigueux hospital’s emergency staff, during winter 2019-2020. The main objective was to observe changes in vaccination coverage following our vaccination campaign with multiple intervention. Moreover, we were also interested in improving the practices and knowledge about the vaccine. Results: communication of our campaign was successful (87% of our 61 participants were informed, p = 0,039). There was an increased vaccine rate : 61% of people were vaccinated, representing an increase of 15% (p = 0,087) compared to 2018. The rise was significative for paramedics (+22%, p = 0,029) especially nurses (+33%, p = 0,021). Doctors remained more vaccinated than paramedics (88% vs 50%, p = 0,006). Communication from a physician of the unit was the most effective intervention (72,5% of vaccinated, p < 0,001). Conclusion: our study confirmed the value of vaccine promotion among healthcare workers. International publications established that a multimodal vaccination campaign certainly induces a marked improvement of healthcare worker’s vaccination coverage. It is known only restrictive measures or mandatory vaccination can achieve the rates expected by WHO.
