Photothérapie dynamique et son application en pathologie de la muqueuse buccale : revue de la littérature

Abstract : Photodynamic therapy is an innovative technique which possesses a good clinical hindsight and is frequently used for the treatment of superficial skin diseases, both in France and abroad. This work focuses on the use of this technique in the oral mucosa, particularly in the treatment of potentially malignant, precancerous and cancerous pathologies. In this review, the clinical studies selected were used to analyse various treatment methods and photosensitizers. For each pathology, we prepared a clinical guide. This therapy appears to show promising results, and would allow for a conservative, minimaly invasive approach adapted to the patient, without compromising the effectiveness of subsequent and more conventional treatments.
