Régénération osseuse guidée avec grille titane : intérêts et indications par rapport aux autres techniques

Abstract : Implants placement sometimes requires a bone graft in order to restore the correct bone volume. Several techniques are possible, such as onlay bone grafting or autogenous formwork, which are the reference techniques. Guided bone regeneration with titanium mesh is a technique that is still not very well known, yet there are many indications and it is, in principle, easier to perform. The objective of this work is to describe the GBR technique with titanium mesh and to evaluate its effectiveness based on scientific literature. After a review of bone physiology and different grafting techniques, we propose in this work to give a detailed description of this procedure and its protocol, and then to present a systematic review comprising 26 selected studies. The results of this systematic review suggest that GBR with titanium mesh is a reliable and reproductible technique with a very good success rate. Practitioners can consider this technique provided they take certain important points into account, such as tension during flap closure and management of exposure.
