Analysis of the perennity of agricultural installations in Brittany
The agricultural world is currently going through a demographic crisis. Indeed, the number of farms in France has been constantly decreasing for decades now. Small family farms with little land have been replaced by large, highly mechanized structures that don't need much manpower and whose primary objective is productivity. This model has created disparities among farmers, some of which have been able to take advantage of this situation, while others are trying as best they can to provide for themselves. Nowadays, new profiles of project holders have appeared. They are people, coming from the agricultural environment or not, who have in common that they are not attracted by this agricultural model and that they want to reduce considerably the ecological impacts of their farms. In fact, for the last few years, many projects of installation, either in organic agriculture, or in productions which were only little represented on the territory, have seen the light. The objectives of this work are, first, to know if these new installations are economically viable for these new farmers, and, second, to identify factors that may have an impact on the perennity of this type of installations.
