Facteurs prédictifs pour l'acquisition d'une lecture labiale fonctionnelle chez l'adulte sourd

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to identify predictive functions for lipreading. Lipreading skills, in particular in homophene discrimination, and visual attention and memory were assessed on 22 people with profound hearing loss, and a control group as well. As a result, despite bigger lipreading abilities, deaf patients do not discriminate homophene more than controls. Furthermore, there are correlations between lipreading skills and visual memory and attention skills.
