Qu'est-ce qu'un peuple ?

Abstract : The polemical reach of the questions being connected with the notion of people is anchored in diverse debates on the nature of the man, the society, and the relationships which they maintain. The "people" is also a concept used in human sciences, which associate him various definitions (group of citizens, proletarians, believers). The first ambition of this study is to explain the origin of this polysemy by redrawing its genealogy. This way, we shall see if the epistemological field of the people limits itself to the only political philosophy, or if it also recovers other aspects (social, legal, cultural or still linguistic). Therefore, it is about a work of general philosophy to report the abstract structure which underlies the definitions of people. The philosophic stake in this report is to bring elements of resolution to the problem of the independence, the (re)birth of people.
