Dysfonctionnements de l'appareil manducateur : les bases actuelles du diagnostic

Abstract : Temporomandibular disorders are diseases which are widespread in the population and difficult to handle due to the multifactorial etiology, the lack of scientific evidence and, consequently, the lack of consensus on the subject. At present, the scientific community agrees to follow a diagnostic approach based on clinical examination and classification of symptoms. The purpose of the current work is to achieve a diagnostic protocol aiming at increasing the reliability of this diagnosis, facilitating the differential diagnosis and thus increasing the quality of patient care. Building on existing protocols, the author proposes decision trees geared towards helping the diagnostic of support joint and muscle dysfunctions.
