Incidence des traumatismes maxillo-faciaux de l'arène

Abstract : Few articles about bullfighting trauma can be found in medical litérature even though such injuries are common in regions where bullfighting is practiced. The surgeon on duty during bullfights must knows about the typical characteristics of injuries caused by bull horns in order to deliver appropriate acute care. Although maxillofacial is not the most frequent type of injury in bullfighting, several instances of serous injuries of the lower face are mentionned in journals. In this specific context, the therapeutic approach will be determined after a systematic examination of the patient to assess the severity of the injury.
