Les nanoparticules dans l’industrie pharmaceutique : comparaison des méthodes de fabrication

Abstract : Today, nanotechnology is a great part of our daily lives, and it will become even more important in the future. Reducing the materials to the nano scale changes their physical characteristics, something that is used in the pharmaceutical industry to create new galenic forms for insoluble drugs – the nanoparticles. First, this document will define the notion of nanoparticle, the advantages of their use in the pharmaceutical industry, the types of nanoparticles currently available on the market and those currently in development, and finally the risks linked to their use in pharmaceutical products. Secondly, the different technologies used to manufacture the nanoparticles will be reviewed in detail, dividing them in "top-down‖" and "bottom-up". The principles of methods will be detailed, taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of each one, and also their adaptability for the industrial scale. Finally, a general conclusion will be done on the current state of industrial production of pharmaceutical nanoparticles.
