Devenir père grâce au don de spermatozoïdes

Abstract : The building of the paternal identity consciousness of unfertile men asking for the help of a donor is a subject which hasn t been very often studied. That s why we had semi-directed interviews, with fifteen men, evolving in the different stages of this journey in 2016, at the Human Sperm Conservation and Study Center of Caen Universitary Hospital. It turns out that men manage to build their paternal identity with some difficulties, usually well explained. Indeed, there are plenty of reconsiderations. Accepting infertility remains the most difficult step to overcome. Overall, undergoing sperm donation is well accepted and tends to be a solution for these couples. Furthermore, in spite of the strong need to invest the pregnancy, it seems to contribute to an assumed fatherhood. Lastly, when the child is born, men live a fulfilled paternity.
