Amélioration de l’information des patients atteints de déficits immunitaires traités par immunoglobulines au CHU Grenoble Alpes

Abstract : Immunodeficiencies are rare diseases, mainly treated with immunoglobulins, a type of plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs). In France, PDMPs are subjected to a particular legislation. Circular DGS/SQ4 n°98-231 of April 9th, 1998 makes compulsory to inform beforehand the patients of the origin of the products, the risks related to their use and the implemented safety measures. The aim of the study conducted to CHU Grenoble Alpes is to assess the information received, the knowledge and the representations of the patients in relation to immunoglobulins. Among the 34 patients questioned by phone, 35% states not to have received informations, whereas they are petitioning to at 82%. A quarter of them is unaware of the origin of the medicament, and therefore of the possible associated risks. The principles of security in the circuit of PDMPs seem little known, in particular in relation to the infectious risk. The injections are constraining and 79% of patients presented at least one undesirable effect. Nonetheless, the patients bring back rather positive representations towards the treatment: they consider it safe, perceive its benefit, do not apprehend their next injection, feel confident and supported by the medical team. These results are confirmed by the literature and suggest a good therapeutic adhesion. To improve information of patients treated by immunoglobulins with CHU Grenoble Alpes, in particular as part of immunodeficiencies, a booklet was created in collaboration with Dr. SARROT-REYNAULD in partnership with LFB.
