Le lait : des qualités nutritionnelles à la polémique

Abstract : The National Health Nutrition Program (PNNS) currently recommends the consumption of three dairy products per day, due to some of the nutrients they contain. Nevertheless, there is an anti-milk controversy, claiming milk could be harmful for human health. The aim of this work is to focus on recent scientific data concerning milk and some pathologies. We will discuss about lactose intolerance, allergy to cow's milk proteins, colorectal, prostate and breast cancer, osteoporosis, rheumatisms, diabetes, but also obesity, cardiovascular diseases, acne, Parkinson's disease and autism. We will also address the following topics: absorption of calcium from milk and other foods, milk growth factors content and possible production of mucus related to milk consumption.
