Accouchement en plateau technique lors de l’accompagnement global à la naissance : motivation et satisfaction des patientes : étude réalisée sur le territoire auvergnat auprès de 209 sages-femmes

Abstract : Introduction : «Classical» hospital follow-up is not suitable for all couples, and some people are specifically looking for different care. This work aims at an analysis of the motivations and the satisfaction of patients opting for an alternative follow-up in the context of the global care of birth and the delivery in technical facilities. Population and method : This is a descriptive cross-sectional survey achieved among patients follow up by an independent midwife and who gave birth at the technical support of the Thiers Hospital Center between July 1st 2015 and July 1st 2017. Results : One hundred and seven patients were included. The main researched criteria care are follow-up by the same person (72.9%), less medicalization (41.1%) and birth plan respect (24.3%). The patients are satisfied at 95,4% by their choice, at 97% by the follow-up done by their independent midwife, at 87.5% by their care by the hospital team in case of transfer of responsibility and at 81,7% by their stay. Discussion : Patients are satisfied with their choice and their follow-up. Nevertheless, due to the lack of technical support open to independent midwives and the necessary involvement of professionals, the geographical distance accumulated to the possible excess of fees can represent a certain drag. Conclusion : Information about the birth places available for future parents needs to become a priority, as well as their diversification so that everyone can freely choose what is best for them.
