Endométriose et alimentation

Abstract : Background: Endometriosis is a multifactorial gynecological pathology, influenced by environmental factors, including diet. Next question: "How does diet affect endometriosis?" Objectives: To provide current state of knowledge on the influence of diet on endometriosis. Methods: A review of the literature was conducted on PubMed, based on 5 prospective cohort studies, 4 case-control studies, and 1 meta-analysis. Results: The risk of endometriosis would be decreased by increased consumption of vegetables, fruits, unsaturated fatty acids, dairy products, and vitamins A, B1, B9, C and E. In contrast, consumption of red meat and poultry, fatty acids trans-unsaturated, and fats from meat as well as dairy products would cause an increased risk of endometriosis. Gluten would increase pelvic pain in deep endometriosis. Discussion and conclusion: Diet therefore influences endometriosis in a number of ways, depending on the types of foods and nutrients.
