Issues obstétricales et néonatales des femmes enceintes d’un Centre d’Hébergement d’Urgence pour Migrants

Abstract : Backgrounds : Pregnant asylum seeker women are a very vulnerable population and their medical follow-up is a public health issue. Our aim is to study their pregnancy outcomes and to assess the risk of an increased morbidity.
Methods : This is a multicentric retrospective observational study carried out in Paris region and based on 225 pregnant women in an emergency shelter for migrants. Their obstetrical and neonatal outcomes are described and compared with french national statistics.
Results : Among 225 patients, 53.3% have been lost to follow-up. The 93 women who gave birth were younger (p < 0.0001), were more frequently great multiparous (p = 0.011) and 37.6% have suffered from violence prior their pregnancy. They had less prenatal consultations (p < 0.0001), were frequently anaemic (44.1%) and had a longer stay at hospital (p = 0.041). Their newborns were more likely to have a 5-minute Apgar score below 7 (p < 0.001). No other obstetrical or neonatal outcome was significantly different.
Conclusion : The pregnancy outcomes were close to the French population but these women have psychological and social risk factors that require special attention.
