Intérêt de la musicothérapie sur l’anxiété des patients au cabinet dentaire, revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : The anxiety associated to dental clinics environment and cares is a long studied phenomenon. It has a negative impact on patients motivation to receive dental care. Music therapy has long been used in the medical field to soothe anxious patients. The goal of this study is to establish, through the available data in current scientific literature, the efficiency of using music therapy in treating patients anxiety in dental clinics. Researches in PubMed’s database as well as personal findings allowed us to select 17 scientific papers relevant to our inclusion criteria. Despite a low level of scientific proof, music appears to be a good supporting tool to relax patients and make them more receptive to dental care, even though the resulting data is still hard to assess.
