Inhibition de la lactation par l'homéopathie

Abstract : Background: It is not recommended to prescribe drugs that inhib lactation in the postpartum period, which is why homeopathy is often prescribed because it is harmless to patients and very accessible. Knowing the experiences of womenis essential to be able to adapt our professional practices. Method: The aim of the studywas to assess the experience of non-breastfeeding women postpartum, on the management of inhibition of lactation by homeopathy. A qualitative, descriptive and interpretative study was carried out based on a semi-structured interview in a type II maternity hospital in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Results: The clinical sign of breastfeeding was present for most women, but it was fairly well accepted as none of them needed to see a health care professional. Discussion: Women tend to want to minimize their use of drugs in the postpartum period, so homeopathy is fairly well accepted by them. Conclusion: Patients have a satisfying experience concerning the use of drugs thanks to prior informations regarding its benefits.
