The 1950's and the 1960's and the American Woman : the transition from the "housewife" to the feminist

Abstract : The new way of life established at the USA after WWII, the "American way of life", and its influence on women, the construction of the ideology of the housewife and the crisis of this ideology are the main points developed in the first part of the work. The second part interprates the transformations of these women into committed feminists and their evolution until the revival of feminine activism in the 1960's.
