Impact d'une rééducation orthophonique des fonctions exécutives sur le langage oral chez le sujet aphasique

Abstract : Some aphasic patients have executives difficulties in addition to their language disorder. However, few studies have examined the executive disorders in aphasic pathology and no causal link has yet been established. However, there is evidence that inhibition and mental flexibility are involved in many language processes. Our study proposes to establish a rehabilitation program focused on inhibition and mental flexibility in order to verify the impact of a such therapy on the syntactic and lexical comprehension and production on an aphasic patient. The results of our study show firstly that our support has improved the capacity of inhibition and flexibility in all patients. On the other hand, we also demonstrated a moderate improvement of production processes. Improving the flexibility and inhibition could have lead to the positive development of production processes and lexical syntactic encoding. These results should be viewed with caution given our small sample. Our work highlights the importance of providing patients with aphasic impairment a care appropriate to their difficulties in order to be the most beneficial.
