Impact d'une remédiation cognitive sur les troubles du raisonnement logico-mathématique

Abstract : The remediation of "dyscalculia", or calculation and logical-mathematical disorder, is still an emerging and little-known subject. Studies have shown a connection between numerical difficulties and executive dysfunction. This lead us to raise the question: what would be the impact of a remediation of the executive functions on calculation and logical-mathematical disorders? In order to answer this question, we offered to a group of children with dyscalculia to train their executive functions. We then compared the results for this experimental group to those of a control group and analyzed their similarities and differences. An upturn in calculation performance was observed in the experimental group. However, logical-mathematical capabilities showed little or no improvement. This study opens the door for research on the use of executive functions and memory process to address the problem of dyscalculia.
