L'usage de la liaison et l'entrée dans la lecture

Abstract : Recent studies showed that the production of the French liaison is a complex linguistic phenomenon for young children from two to six years old because phonetic changes appear between two words. Indeed, when we produce a French liaison we unit the final consonant of a word with the initial vowel of the following word. The study presented here give new conclusions. An experimental protocol was set up to answer the question: Does the phenomenon of French liaison allow to understand trouble of pupils. In spite of some methodological limits, we saw tendencies and the hypothesis were confirmed. Pupils who have trouble in language and reading produce fewer French liaison than pupil who have a good level. When a pupil doesn't realize much French liaison, it is an indicator to assert that pupil is in trouble and the reading could be perturbed.
