Les "bébés signeurs" : regards de parents sur la démarche et analyse des pratiques communicatives enrichies de signes

Abstract : It was recognized, nowadays, that gestural communication plays an important role in the daily verbal adults, but also in the child's language development. Before being able to speak, children can express themselves with gestures. We're interested in the process of "baby signs." This approach argues that, before to they can talk, children are able to communicate through gestures. Signs, of the French sign language, are offered to children to enhance their preverbal communication and be better understood by those around them. We wanted to explore this topic by analyzing, in one hand, the discourse practices of parents with signs and, secondly, their actual practices.
