Mobilisations pour les droits des femmes : capacités d'influence féministe dans la transition politique tunisienne

Abstract : Tunisian popular uprisings brought by the immolation of young hawker Mohamed Bouazizi on December 17th 2010, led to Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali's stepping down after twenty three years of dictatorial rule. The expressions of women from all backgrounds came out in force to demand the right to democracy, social justice, freedom, dignity and equality. Women rights activists believed to a complete institutionalization of gender equality due to a change of system. However, the 23rd October 2011 elections showed not only male-female parity disrespect for heads election boards, but also that the Islamic frame of reference was legitimated with the success of the Ennahda party. Since then, women rights have become one of the emerging civil society's concerns. The core civil society - constituted by rare non-profit organizations existing since the former regime - is seeking to shape the current political shift. The Tunisian League for Human Rights Defense, the Tunisian Organization of Democrats Women and the Tunisian Women Organization for Research and Development are the core of this advocacy movement. The study of these organizations regarding their feminist capacities to influence the Tunisian political shift will answer the following issue: despite a political opening situation due to the end of dictatorship, organizations' mobilizations for women rights don't seem to gloat. Thus, restrictions of visions, resources and organizations' environment will be analyzed.
