Évaluation du calepin visuo-spatial chez des enfants dyscalculiques âgés de 8 à 13 ans

Abstract : Several authors highlighted a deficit of the visuospatial sketchpad of working memory at children with dyscalculia. This visuospatial sketchpad is split in two sub-components: the visual cache (visual component) and the inner scribe (spatial component). Then, we ventured the hypothesis that the performances of these children weren't equivalent in both sub-components. For that purpose, we assessed 29 children, between 8 to 13 years old. We made them sit an assessment including two tests : each estimating one of the sub-components of the visuo-spatial sketchpad. The results of this study bring the light on a deficit of the visual cache at the majority of the tested population, while the inner scribe works. Thus, this study allows us to confirm our hypothesis and to propose the integration of the assessment of these sub-components in assessment for "calculation and mathematical reasoning disorder", but also propose the training of these skills during this children's care.
